Zero-Hours Employment Contract
BETWEEN:
1. K9 Exclusive Walks (“the Company”)

1. Position and Initiation Period
1.1 Your role is Sighthound Care Specialist & Walker.
1.2 Initiation Period: This contract begins with a 5-working-day initiation period to assess suitability. Either party may terminate during this window with 24 hours’ notice. Full terms apply only upon successful completion.
2. Hours of Work & Tax Efficiency Cap
2.1 This is a zero-hours contract. The Company is not obliged to offer work, and you are not obliged to accept it.
2.2 Voluntary Monthly Cap: To remain within the 0% Income Tax bracket (Personal Allowance), your hours are capped at a maximum of 82 hours per calendar month (approx. £1,042.22 gross pay).
2.3 Any requirement to exceed this cap must be agreed upon in writing. If this is a secondary job, a Basic Rate (BR) tax code may be applied by HMRC.
3. Working Time & External Employment Reporting
3.1 48-Hour Limit: Your total working hours across all employers must not exceed an average of 48 hours per week unless a separate written opt-out agreement is signed.
3.2 Weekly Reporting: You are required to provide a weekly summary of any hours worked for other employers to ensure compliance with the Working Time Regulations 1998.
3.3 Safety Clause: The Company reserves the right to refuse or reduce offered hours if your total combined workload poses a risk to health, animal welfare, or road safety.
4. Staff Training & Development
4.1 Following the initiation period, you will have access to specialist dog training and professional development exams.
4.2 Specific terms regarding the funding and completion of these exams will be provided upon enrolment.
5. Staff Uniform & Duties
5.1 Uniform: Provided after the initiation period; must be worn on duty and kept in a clean, professional condition.
5.2 Maintenance: You are responsible for ensuring the garden, daycare spaces, and company vehicle are kept clean and tidy.
5.3 Waste Management: Responsibility for the prompt and safe disposal of all dog waste.
5.4 Tech Compliance: Real-time logging of all activities and hours via the company mobile app.
6. Pay, Frequency and Location
6.1 Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour.
6.2 Payment Frequency: Remuneration is paid monthly, in arrears, at the end of each calendar month.
6.3 Holiday Pay: Accrued at 12.07% of hours worked.
6.4 Location: Wembley and surrounding areas. Full UK Driving Licence (21+) is mandatory. Company vehicle remains on-site overnight.
7. Termination
7.1 Following the initiation period, the notice period required by either party is [Insert Notice Period, e.g., 1 week].
